The BBC has an excellent report about Restart Parties occurring in London. A venue is chosen and advertised and encourages people to bring along either their fixing skills or gadgets that need
fixing.
The outcome is that gadgets get fixed rather than being condemned to being recycled or ending up as landfill, and hopefully some education on fixing skills is imparted too.
